Build PCBAs in hours right from your desktop.
Voltera Alta is a desktop pick and place system designed for rapid, in-house SMT assembly. It automates solder paste dispensing and component placement so teams can assemble boards in a day instead of weeks. It’s an ideal prototyping platform for fast-moving hardware teams who need speed, reliability, confidence, and IP protection at every iteration.
Benefits
- Plug-and-play setup:
Alta is intuitive by design to fit seamlessly into your custom routine.
Guided workflows eliminate guesswork and make assembly easy and accessible.
- Built-in solder paste dispensing:
Eliminate stencil ordering, shipping delays, and manual paste application.
Alta precisely dispenses solder paste directly onto your PCB, enabling same-day builds and instant revisions.
- Flexible component feeding:
Load only what you need when you need it.
Alta’s optimized feeder system supports both cut tapes and loose tray components, so you’re never forced into full-reel purchases or long setup cycles. - Accurate pick and place:
Smart alignment and automated optical inspection (AOI) help catch errors early, reduce rework, and boost confidence in complex board designs, dense layouts, and diverse packages.

Frequently asked questions
1. Does Alta dispense conductive ink, or print traces?
No. Alta does not dispense conductive ink or print traces.
Alta is designed for surface-mount assembly, combining solder paste dispensing and pick-and-place functionality for conventionally fabricated PCBs.
If you are looking to print conductive ink traces or perform additive PCB fabrication, V-One and NOVA are designed for those applications.
2. Does Alta have a reflow function?
No. Alta does not include reflow.
3. Do attachments from V-One or NOVA work with Alta?
No. Attachments from V-One or NOVA are not compatible with Alta. Alta is designed as a dedicated SMT assembly platform rather than an extension of those systems.
4. Do I need to buy Voltera’s proprietary solder pastes?
While Voltera solder pastes aren't required, we recommend them for the most consistent dispensing performance with your Alta.
5. Can I use third-party feeders on Alta?
No. Alta only supports Voltera feeders.
